The Sudanese Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday an increase in dengue fever cases and its spread throughout the River Nile State, with the possibility of it spreading to other states.
According to the Ministry’s statement, 143 new cases of dengue fever were recorded, particularly in four localities, according to daily statistics and reports. Shandi locality has the highest percentage of infected people, exceeding 75 cases, followed by Al-Matamma locality with 58 cases of dengue fever, nine cases in Al-Dawamer locality , and one case in Atbara locality .
With the registration of these new cases of infection, the spread of the fever is expanding throughout the River Nile State, and there are indications of an outbreak of dengue fever in other states coinciding with the beginning of summer and rising temperatures, coupled with the weakness and scarcity of the necessary medical services to combat it .
It is worth mentioning, as is customary, that outbreaks of diseases such as dengue fever and cholera only occur in warring countries , as a result of the continuation of war with air pollution and poisoning due to the remnants of chemical war weapons, in addition to the war causing a deterioration in medical care .
The outbreak of dengue fever and other diseases coincides with signs of the beginning of a peaceful dialogue, the groundwork for which is being laid in Berlin, Germany, between the warring parties. Will these negotiations pave the way for a final solution leading to peace ?
