Ethiopia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hadra Abra, revealed his country’s participation in the third conference related to Sudan for the year (2026), stressing that Ethiopia focused during the participation on the need for sustainable international support towards the Sudanese crisis, in addition to effective partnerships, and more investment in host countries in order to ensure a decent life for refugees and create hope for them.
The minister stated “Hadra” is Ethiopia’s confirmation and commitment to comprehensive refugee policies, especially providing an educational environment for children, and basic needs of goods and services.
During the conference, participating countries pledged to provide 1.8 billion euros to alleviate famine among the Sudanese people, as well as to assist refugees by providing housing, food, and medical supplies.
Ethiopia stressed the need for international support through coordinated mediation and a comprehensive unification of the Sudanese people.
Ethiopia also affirmed its commitment to finding ways to promote peace, security and stability in Sudan.
Ethiopia reiterated its firm stance on the Sudanese conflict on the sidelines of the Third International Conference on Sudan 2026 in Berlin, stressing that armed conflict is not the solution, but rather the entry of all active parties with civilian political representation to negotiate and engage in dialogue to find effective solutions to end the crisis.
