  • Egypt Launches Covert Drone War in Sudan Using Turkish Bayraktars

الصورة تعبيرة مستولدة عبر برنامج ديل

A New York Times investigation (Feb 1, 2026) reveals a pivotal shift in the Sudanese conflict, confirming Egypt’s direct military intervention. Moving beyond diplomatic support, Cairo is now conducting offensive air operations against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) from a clandestine base, utilizing advanced drone warfare.

Direct Military Involvement: Satellite imagery and intelligence confirm operations launching from East Oweinat, an Egyptian agricultural hub turned military launchpad near the Sudanese border.

The Turkish Connection: The report identifies the deployment of Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 drones. These assets are executing precision strikes deep within Sudan, targeting RSF supply chains and critical infrastructure.

Strategic Objective: The intervention marks a calculated escalation by Cairo to enforce “red lines,” preventing the collapse of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and halting RSF advances on key strategic cities.
