"HAPC' Followings:
Sudanese media outlets reported, in march 3, the ‘initial vision’ issued by the Sudanese civil rapprochement paths aimed at reaching a unified civil path in order to stop the war and establish peace.
Civil Sudanese Rapprochement Paths:
These paths were formed last year as a popular entity that does not represent a new political entity or a party organization, but rather a civil entity that includes broad sectors of Sudanese society with the aim of creating momentum made and led by civilians without a party agenda, and including the participation of the widest possible spectrum of popular voices, leading to a single civil voice for the Sudanese people to stop the war and establish peace.
It initially includes more than 40 initiatives, organizations and civil entities, as well as independent actors from Sudanese civil society, representing various parts of Sudan, in addition to representatives of women’s organizations, and workers in the humanitarian sector.
The Most Prominent Points in the Initial Vision for the Paths of Civil Sudanese Rapprochement:
- The (initial vision) represents the starting point for launching joint collective action, and unifying the independent Sudanese civil voice around a realistic path to stop the war and establish peace in the country.
- The initial vision of the paths seeks to build trust between the different civil groups and break down the barrier of isolation between initiatives, in order to create a safe environment for discussion and rapprochement regarding the essential issues important to the Sudanese people in war and peace.
- The initial vision aims to read and analyze the crisis of the homeland and the war over the years, its expected scenarios, and what civilian actors must do jointly, gradually, taking into account the sensitivity and complexities of the reality.
- In the near future, the Civil Convergence Paths intend to broaden the scope of discussion on this initial vision and present it to civil and community forces and Sudanese public opinion, as a broad consultative process on the possibilities of stopping the war and building peace.
The Position of the Warring Parties Regarding the Initial Vision for Civil Rapprochement Paths:
“Rapid Support Forces” seem to have initially accepted this preliminary vision and the idea of Sudanese civilian rapprochement paths, as their media outlets have disseminated points of this initial vision. However, considering the stance of the army forces led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, observers raise questions about the seriousness looking and response to this initial vision, which represents a fundamental building block for the pursuit of ending the war and establishing peace… Will the Sudanese people have a voice?
