The Democratic Organization of the Red Sea Afar issued a strongly worded warning to the Afar and Eritrean public. , revealing that it had detected suspicious movements by unknown entities and groups attempting to link themselves to the organization through social media platforms, especially the ” TikTok ” application , as well as an attempt to impersonate the page of one of the official party officials.
In an official statement, the organization completely disassociated itself from any statements, positions, or actions issued by individuals or entities that have no organizational relationship with it.
The statement clarified that the emergence of initiatives or groups bearing similar names or acting independently without authorization does not grant them any legitimacy or representative status to speak on behalf of the organization or the Afar people.
Exposing Misinformation and Calling for Vigilance :
The political faction noted that it had recently observed deliberate activities and practices aimed at creating confusion and misunderstanding among the Afar public by suggesting the existence of political or organizational ties with the party.
The statement read: “ Responsible political action is not based on claims or the exploitation of slogans that confuse the Afar scene and weaken unity, but rather it must be based on clarity, transparency, and institutional commitment”.
The organization called on the relevant authorities and all members of the Afar people to exercise caution and verify the identity of any entity claiming to represent them, stressing the importance of relying only on official channels and statements as a source of information.
The organization also stressed that changing symbols or names does not change the reality of goals and practices, and that true political legitimacy is taken from the field, from bitter sacrifices and commitment to fateful issues, and not through the fabrication of an artificial political reality.
A Long History of Struggle:
In closing its statement, the Red Sea Afar Democratic Organization recalled its historical roots, which extend over more than twenty-eight years of continuous struggle in adherence to the legitimate rights of the Afar people, asserting that it will not pay attention to attempts aimed at disrupting its progress or diminishing its historical role.
The organization also extended an open invitation to all those wishing to serve the Afar cause to adopt constructive and responsible work, and to refrain from inciting divisions or creating parallel entities that lack legitimacy and popular consensus.
