International Organization for Global Trade announced in a report on Monday that the United Arab Emirates has, for the first time, ranked among the top ten countries in global trade.
For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, tweeted on his personal platform on X, saying: “In the latest World Trade Organization report, the UAE has entered the list of the top ten globally for the first time in its history”.
In his tweet, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid pointed out that the UAE has advanced from 17th place globally to ninth place in just five years, confirming that the UAE’s total foreign trade last year reached six trillion dirhams, equivalent to 1.6 trillion dollars, with a growth rate of 15% compared to the previous year, with a trade surplus of 584 billion dirhams in the exported goods and services to all countries of the world.
This announcement came amid continued Iranian attacks on the UAE, with the UAE Ministry of Defense stating that it had intercepted 12 ballistic missiles , two cruise missiles, and 19 attack drones , without any human or material losses.
According to daily data from the UAE Ministry of Defense, the number of missiles reached 519 ballistic missiles and 26 cruise missiles, with the number of drones reaching 2,210 drones.
