The electoral process in Ethiopia has entered its crucial and final stage, as the National Electoral Board races against time to sort, match and approve the final results, amid strict auditing procedures to ensure legal integrity.
In a press conference, the council president, Melaturk Hailu, revealed the final moments , and that a results flow map from the regions to the main center, according to the following updates :
– House of Representatives: the verification center received results from 446 out of 501 constituencies.
– Regional Councils: Documents were received from 562 out of 638 districts.
– Constituencies under immediate review: Currently, 1008 Constituencies are undergoing thorough and intensive examination out of 1139 Constituencies where the review process has begun.
In the digital assessment, the council has succeeded in transferring and securing more than 88% of the total departments targeted for auditing and review so far.
“ Haylo ” explained that the technical committees are still waiting for the results of the remaining 131 electoral districts, stressing that these boxes are currently on their way through the logistical transport network from various states and regions to the main collection headquarters in order to subject them to the same examination and matching before the official final results are announced.
