“TASIS” alliance categorically denied any contacts or meetings, whether direct or indirect, with Sudanese army, stressing that the news circulating in this regard is completely false.
This came during a press conference held by the coalition on Friday in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, in the presence of a high-level delegation that included: Advisor Mohamed Al-Mukhtar, Nasr Al-Din Abdel-Bari, and Ibrahim Al-Mirghani, ahead of anticipated meetings with the five-member mechanism concerned with resolving the Sudanese crisis.
Conditional Dialogue and Rejection of Exclusion:
The official spokesman for the coalition, Ahmed Taqad Lissan, explained that “TASIS” communication is limited only to regional and international platforms and mechanisms concerned with peace efforts in Sudan.

The official spokesperson for TASIS Alliance, Ahmed Taqad Lissan
He stressed that any political settlement arrangements that attempt to bypass or exclude the alliance will have no real impact on the Sudanese scene, describing any peace process that does not include the forces under the umbrella of “TASIS” as merely “ formal arrangements ” that lack effectiveness on the ground.
In a related context, the alliance reiterated its firm stance of rejecting the participation of the Islamic Movement, the National Congress Party, or any entities associated with them in the political and negotiation process, considering that the participation of these parties constitutes a major obstacle to achieving a sustainable settlement of the crisis.

The Humanitarian File Takes Priority:
The coalition linked its involvement in any political process to adherence to what was stated in the statement of the international quartet mechanism issued last May, which stipulated the approval of a humanitarian truce for three months through the Jeddah platform, and paving the way for reaching a permanent ceasefire.
Launching a Transitional Process Led by a Civilian Authority:
Ahmed Lissan pointed out that talking about dialogue and negotiation is premature unless a humanitarian truce and a temporary cessation of fighting are reached first, stressing that humanitarian arrangements and ensuring the flow of aid are the basis for creating an atmosphere to end the war.
The Parallel Government and Its Stance Towards Regional Actors:
The coalition spokesman defended the move to form a “parallel government”, explaining that obtaining official recognition of it is not a requirement at the present stage, and pointing out that there is already communication and relations with several regional and international countries and entities.
On the other hand, the coalition criticized the statements of some members of the five-member mechanism, most notably the African Union representative in Sudan, Mohamed Baalish , describing them as lacking neutrality.
However, the alliance stressed that the African Union remains a suitable umbrella for managing the dialogue, provided that objective criteria are agreed upon that define the participating parties in line with the nature of the current conflict.
In closing, Taqad Lissan downplayed the impact of the ” Democratic Bloc’s ” refusal to sit down with his alliance, stressing that this position will not affect in any way the role or status of ” Ta’sis ” in future arrangements aimed at ending the war in Sudan.
